2022 President's Message

January 1, 2022

To: Lethbridge Little League Members

I would like to send a shout out to all the board members who served LLLBA over the 2021 season. Their ability to adapt to COVID protocols and AHS guidelines, led to another successful year providing Little League to our community.

As we start another calendar year, we are happy to announce that registrations for the spring regular season will commence on January 10, 2022. This will include player and coaches’ registrations. We look forward to another exciting year of baseball.

With this in mind we would like to update you on a few changes to divisional set up for the 2022 calendar year that will include players from the ages 4 through 16. With the announcement of the Little League Alberta provincial league, we have made a few adjustments to how some divisions of play will be structured mainly with ages 14 -16. In addition, we have made some slight adjustments to our Minor and Major divisions. Hopefully the information below will useful. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

Senior and Junior Divisions:

The Senior and Junior programs will have a “high level” tournament teams formed in February / March. These teams will play as a regular season and tournament team the entire year. Games will be played in a provincial regular season and then transition to a tournament season team with the ability to compete at the Alberta Divisional, Little League Canadians and Little League World Series.

Players that don’t make the high-level tournament team will play in our Junior/Senior (Teenage) regular season division locally within our district. There will be an opportunity for tournament play through the summer in the Sr/ Jr AA division.

Major / Minor Division:

The Major / Minor divisions regular season will be a tiered program. With the new resolution being passed at the November 2021 AGM the new structure will be as follows.

Regular Season (April – June)

Major Tier 1 (4 teams)

Age 11 – 12 players must be born between September 2009 and August 2011.
